That tube was secured from water intrusion and pretty well forgotten about until this last stretch of nice weather hit and we got busy scrubbing and painting the boat. Suddenly my redneck streak could no longer be suppressed and I felt the need to do something about this hole in our boat. I wandered down to the local hardware store with Molly to see just how redneck I could get and still have a functional dorade vent. A few 4" ABS fitting later and a lot of head shaking from Molly we left the store with my marvel of modern engineering in hand. It was back to the boat for the 5 minute install, sure it will hopefully be replaced this winter with a permanent less obnoxious solution but for now we have a functional back woods and cheap dorade (for the record Molly has forbade me from upgrading any more of the vents, she sweetly told me she was kind of fond of the buckets and

As much as that hurts I suppose she has a point and as many time as I am told that looks don't matter, we all kind of know they do. Who knows maybe someone out there can use this idea for their boat, but remember when people stop and stare, they probably aren’t staring because they are impressed with the beauty of your creation; but hey it works.
